A Christmas Gathering at CHIJMES

For two days, Tiger & Lotus stepped into CHIJMES with a festive world of its own. Beneath the soft light and old architectural grace of the space, our Christmas market became more than a seasonal pop-up. It became a meeting point for story, craft, and conversation. Visitors wandered in with curiosity and stayed with delight, drawn to a setting that felt at once intimate and expressive.

Every corner held something to discover, from ornaments and keepsakes to jewellery and home objects that carried a sense of character. In a place already rich with atmosphere, our pieces brought another layer of warmth. They did not sit still as products on display. They became part of the occasion, part of the memory, and part of how Christmas felt in that room.

What made the market special was not only the festive styling, but the way people responded to it. Guests came by to greet us, to browse slowly, to ask questions, and to spend time with the pieces in a way that felt personal. There was a natural ease in the space. Some were discovering Tiger & Lotus for the first time. Others arrived like old friends. They leaned into the details, noticed the textures, asked about the makers, and picked up objects with the kind of care that tells you something has already resonated. That was the mood throughout the event. It was not rushed. It was warm, curious, and full of feeling. In that setting, conscious luxury felt exactly as it should: close, tactile, and human.

Among the many pieces that caught people’s attention, the Christmas mice quickly became favourites. Small in scale but full of charm, they seemed to hold the spirit of the market in miniature. People smiled the moment they saw them. Some laughed, some called others over, and some picked them up with the instant certainty that they had found the thing they would take home. They brought a playful note to the curation, but never felt novelty for novelty’s sake. Like the best festive objects, they carried both humour and tenderness. They reminded people of the quiet rituals of decorating a home, of opening treasured boxes in December, of giving a room its seasonal heartbeat. Their popularity was telling. Even in a space filled with beautiful things, it was often the objects with personality that stayed with people longest.

Around them, the rest of the collection formed its own festive landscape. Decorative accents, thoughtful gifts, and pieces for the home sat together in a way that felt collected rather than arranged. There was colour, texture, softness, shimmer, and little moments of surprise. Each object had its own voice, yet together they created a fuller expression of the Tiger & Lotus world. One that was spirited, cultured, and quietly bold.

By the end of the two days, what remained most was not only what was sold, but what was shared. CHIJMES gave the market its setting, but the people gave it life. They brought warmth, attention, and joy into the space. What we carried home was a simple feeling, and perhaps the truest one of the season: that beautiful things matter most when they bring people closer.
